Can you think of yourself as a painter? You might think you have to be a "born" artist, but try to get past that notion. Close your eyes and picture yourself in front of a huge canvas. Picture that canvas as being your life. Today, that canvas is blank. You, as the painter and creator, can choose to have whatever picture you want on that canvas. You can choose your life to be anything you can imagine.
Take the biggest brush you can imagine and dip it into the paint color of your choice. Raise your arm and begin to apply the paint as freely and joyfully as you can. Picture the color spreading across the canvas just the way you want it to be. Be generous with your color and apply it with abandon. Don’t worry about it being perfect . . . just do what you want with it. Joy is the perfect partner to your imagination. Paint with joy! Create!
This is just how your life can be. Joyful . . colorful . . vivid! Just the way you want it to be! However, the key is this; you have to believe it possible. And you have to believe you have the choice to make it so.
Do you want a better job or a different career? Imagine it! Do you want a warm, loving family life? Imagine it! Do you want travel and adventure? Imagine it! Is your life chaotic and you desire peace and harmony? Imagine it!
Then do it!
Sound much too simplistic? Sure it does . . . probably to most people. But it is simple maybe not easy, but simple.
If you can imagine something for your life, it can happen. You will have to get out your paints and create it. Then you have to take action in the direction of your dream, one step at a time. Action is a must. The manifestation of your dream depends on how badly you desire it and how hard you’re willing to work toward it.
You might very well have some nay sayers declare your dream to be impossible. No matter who he or she might be, even if it is one of your closest loved ones, don’t listen! (The chances are very good it will be someone close to you.) Much has been written about people with big dreams that seemed impossible. Imagine the laughter and ridicule when Orville and Wilbur Wright tried to fly their first airplane. Some incredible accomplishments have been achieved by people who didn’t listen to the negative thinkers. Obstacles can be overcome. You have to focus on that idea.
Dream your dream. It can’t be too big, if you want it badly enough. Go for it!
